BREAST CANCER is the most common cancer in Malaysia.
MAMMOGRAMS are the most reliable way to detect early breast cancer.
This is a Malaysian study to determine the impact of genes, lifestyle and breast density on breast cancer.
We are recruiting 1000 Malaysian women to participate in this study.
This programme is supported by Sime Darby Medical Centre Subang Jaya (SDMCSJ) and Cancer Research Initiatives Foundation (CARIF). Qualifying participants can now have a mammogram at only RM50.
have not gone for a mammogram for the last 12 months.
*If you are less than 40 years of age and have a close relative with breast cancer, you should consult your doctor about the benefits and limitations of mammograms. With a doctor’s referral, you are still eligible for the study.
donate a small amount of blood.
complete a questionnaire about factors that relate to breast cancer such as whether you have ever been pregnant, your age when your menstrual periods began, your exercise and other habits.
have a mammogram at Breast Care Centre, Sime Darby Medical Centre Subang Jaya.
How do I make an appointment?
A doctor’s referral is not required to make an appointment, although you may wish to consult your doctor about the benefits and limitations of mammograms so that you can make an informed choice about going for the screening.
