Sime Darby Medical Centre Ara Damansara Opens Its Doors

Sime Darby Medical Centre Ara Damansara opened its doors for operations on the auspicious day of 12 January 2012.

The hospital’s first patient arrived at 8.40am through the Emergency Room to receive medical care. A total of 26 patients was seen by the doctors on the first day of its operations.

The first patient, a 20-month old toddler was the center of attraction when the CEO - Medical, Ms Elaine Cheong, Hospital Director Ms Sue Lee and several staff member gathered around to greet the patient.

Nuang Jumnong (known as Mimi), 20-month old and her mother Pichaya Nuanjumnong are residing in Malaysia as dependants of a Thai expatriate. Mdm Pichaya is particularly glad to have a hospital near her home in Saujana, the neighbouring residential area.

Following her visit, the hospital had a steady stream of patients from Sime Darby offices and scheduled outpatient appointments.

Dato Setia Dr Hj Anuar Masduki, Consultant Cardiologist was among the first specialists to review his patients at his clinic at SDMC AD including a walk-in patient from Shah Alam.

On hand to welcome these patients were also the Senior Management Team of Sime Darby Healthcare Group. Leading the team was the Managing Director, YM Raja Azlan Raja Azwa, accompanied by Ms Elaine Cheong and Ms Sue Lee.

Sime Darby Medical Centre Ara Damansara is the first stand-alone brain, heart and spine & joint centre of excellence in the country. This is the third medical facility established under the Sime Darby Healthcare Group, after its flagship Sime Darby Medical Centre in Subang Jaya and Sime Darby Specialist Centre Megah in Petaling Jaya.
