KUALA LUMPUR, Oct 18 (Bernama) -- MASholidays, the travel and tour arm of MAS, have signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with Sime Darby Healthcare (SDH), one of the country's leading one-stop healthcare providers, to provide specialised medical health screenings and surgical packages for tourists travelling to Malaysia.
Under the collaboration, SDH will offer a range of specialised packages like gastroscopy, colorectal, cardiac and digestive tract screenings (including total knee replacement surgery) to MASholidays at attractive rates.
MASholidays will then incorporate these options into its all-inclusive travel packages and promote them to customers.
MAS Commercial Strategy executive vice president Datuk Dr Amin Khan said MASholidays' expansion into medical tourism shows timely support for the government's Economic Transformation Programme which aims to position Malaysia as the preferred destination for world-class healthcare services.
"With its network of over 100 destinations worldwide, MAS is ideal for connecting those seeking medical treatment to Malaysia, apart from simplifying customers' travel process and catering to their needs with comfort, flexibility and affordability," he said at the MoU signing here.
Meanwhile, SDH managing director Raja Azlan Shah Raja Azwa said the collaboration with MASholidays will help to position Malaysia as a preferred medical tourism destination in the region for foreign patients travelling with MAS.
